Day 10 - April 14 - Astorga to Foncebadon

Today, Sunday, was a beautiful day. We were finally able to walk in shorts and tee shirts plus we had to apply plenty of sunscreen. Let's hope the good weather continues.

We started the day at the albergue in Astorga, where for the second night since starting the walk, we slept in a shared dormitory. Larry and Emilio chose to stay in a hotel nearby.

Upon leaving the albergue we went to a churreria where we had chocolate con churros. A real treat on a Sunday morning. Today's stage consisted of sixteen miles. The entire stage was uphill and we ended up climbing over 1800 feet. Foncebadon is the highest town in the entire camino at an elevation of 1430 meters or 4691 feet. We have 70 meters more to climb over next two Km and then we'll be at the Cruz de Ferro which at 1500 meters is the highest point in the entire camino.
